Pasta

CHELUCCI
PASTIFICIO CHELUCCI

Italy is also pasta, right?

A STORY 100 YEARS LONG

The Chelucci family has been traditionally producing pasta since 1912; the company was founded by his grandfather Edoardo. i
The origins date back to the early twentieth century, in 1912 the company found its historic site, located near the water source in the village of Piteccio, on the Pistoia hills, where it is still today.

The structure originally housed a small paper mill, later transformed into a wool mill and, finally, in a pasta factory, at the hands of a certain Gualtierotti. In 1912 the Chelucci brothers, Edoardo and Terzo, took over the business and expanded it.

After the Second World War, which forced the Chelucci family to stop production and leave Piteccio displaced in Florence, the Chelucci family returned to the company, reactivated production, and were one of the first companies in the Pistoia area to resume operations.

Bronze drawn pasta

The pasta of the Chelucci pasta factory is kneaded exclusively as it once was and drawn with bronze dies, which give the product the right roughness while maintaining the organoleptic characteristics and the natural taste of homemade pasta.

We pick for you: Fusilli, a type of curled pasta.

Were made in the kitchens of the wealthiest families.

Miele della Lunigiana D.O.P
HONEY FROM LUNIGIANA, THE FIRST DOP IN ITALY

Lunigiana honey is the first Italian honey to obtain the Protected Designation of Origin - PDO from the European Union, the highest recognition of the typicality of a product.

The production area includes the 14 Municipalities of Lunigiana, whose typically mountain landscape presents very varied vegetation with a particular diffusion of woods, acacia, and chestnut, very valuable plant essences from the beekeeping point of view.

This fact, combined with a tradition that dates back with certainty to the end of the 1400s and the low degree of industrialization, determines, in Lunigiana, an environment suitable for carrying out quality beekeeping with the production of acacia and chestnut honey with characteristics of excellent chemical-physical and organoleptic properties.

45 producers have joined the DOP certification for a total of over 4300 hives.

We picked for you: a little special jar of acacia or Chesnut honey from Tuscany to season your cheeses. It is an homage to bees, this animal so vital for the balance of the environment but also at risk.

Did you know that bees are related to Ferdinando I of the Medici family?
In the center of Piazza SS. Annunziata is the equestrian monument of Grand Duke Ferdinando I de 'Medici, to which that has a curious anecdote of the bees carved on a cartouche of the base is linked.

The statue was made by Giambologna, the interest of this monument lies in its base, where you can see a swarm of bees with the queen and the workers in the center arranged all around in concentric circles: at the top, you can read the words "Maiestate tantum", which means "only for His Majesty".

This image became Ferdinand's heraldic symbol, in which he was the queen bee and the workers his subjects.

But how many are Ferdinand's bees? It is not easy to answer and in fact, their position makes it difficult to count them one by one without keeping the sign with their fingers.
Hence the legend that whoever succeeds will be kissed by Fortune.
In the past, this game was used by parents to stop children from having tantrums, promising them that they would get what they wanted only if they could guess the number of bees. Well, to tell the truth, you can still try it today with your children ... the important thing is not to touch the bees with your hands, otherwise, you are not playing fair!

By the way, there should be 91 bees in all ..!

Dishtowel/tea towel Canovaccio!

Thanks to the loom, sheets, fabrics, and garments are produced. The basic operating principle is the same for all looms: the creation of fabric takes place by intertwining perpendicular threads that take the name of warp and welf.

We have choose for you: this linen and cotton mixed cloth, loom woven in different colors and patterns dedicated to Italian and Tuscan cuisine. Start your collection with this one. This Canovaccio is useful in the kitchen and makes a beautiful gift.
